1466 (Holmfirth) Squadron of the Air Training Corps asked us to produce a fun and exiting web site. The brief was to produce a web site. to help promote and inform people about the ATC and the Sqn. its self.

We set about designing layouts and logos for the site, keeping the aviation theme, with blue background and plane images. The menu bar is a drop down menu, giving details of all the pages in an easy navigation layout.

As the project went on, more requests where added to the brief, including a management system for some sort of calendar, we decided that the best way to go about this was to use the very popular phpBB bulletin board system, with an added calendar. This also gave the sqn. a forum to post messages and requests.

We decided that as well as a main calendar there should be a smaller version on the main page, so we set about coding the mini-cal as we called it.

The site has some specific features that allow the Squadron to update the sites itself, including adding calendar items and news items, which means the site is always up to date.

We also created some flyers to advertise the Squadron at local events that they took part in. They had to be eye catching but still give all the required information about why people should join. An aviation theme was kept, with a list of activities and the title 'What did you do last weekend?' The campaign was a huge success with lots of new cadets coming to the Squadron.
